a poem: what may come true

by Nicole Wolf

A lifetime of dreams
that one day come true
though delayed by
twists and turns

it’s a wonder
we make it through
a mystery that only
the spirit guides can answer
and release us
from the throws of our whims
to act out our fantasies
that disturb a path
to bigger dreams
than we can image

the time comes
to step over
the threshold
as the way makers
open the door
and beckon with
a push or pull

we must not resist
for it’s the gateway
to the blessing of
a lifetime of dreams
that do come true if we let them

Written (by me) in March 1999, published today with a few edits of the original. It definitely fits with this year’s theme of dreams coming true. See last weeks This is the Year post for more inspiration.
